From October 1st to 4th, 2024, LOD will participate in the Big Science Business Forum (BSBF), the international event dedicated to big science and the high-tech industry. The event will take place at the Generali Convention Center in Trieste.
After successful editions in Copenhagen in 2018 and Granada in 2022, the city of Trieste will host the third edition, an unmissable opportunity for the entire scientific and industrial community.
LOD, our Dynamic Olfactometry Laboratory, a spin-off of the University of Udine since 2007, will be present at Hall 28 – Stand C08, within the Italy Pavilion. LOD specialists will be available to companies and organizations interested in learning more about the services we offer, including the quantification of odorous emissions and the assessment of potential olfactory impact. Particularly relevant will be our proposals for experimental testing on new-generation fuels, including hydrogen blends, which are crucial for the energy transition.
The Big Science Business Forum also offers Italian companies a chance to engage with major European research infrastructures and learn about future investment and procurement opportunities. Among the Italian companies attending the event are industry leaders such as Leonardo S.p.A. for aerospace and defense, Fincantieri for shipbuilding, and IRIS for superconductivity. Additionally, companies operating in technological, environmental, and infrastructural sectors will be present, along with historic enterprises like illycaffè.
The event serves as a hub for connecting research and industry, aiming to create a true market for Big Science in Europe, thanks to the support of organizations such as Area Science Park, ILO Network Italia, CNR, ENEA, INAF, INFN, and PromoTurismoFVG. With 163 stands and 133 exhibitors from across Europe, the forum aims to strengthen the link between businesses and research, fostering innovation and international competitiveness.
